THE CAR BY FOLLOWING THEINSTRUCTIONS BELOW. BY PURCHASING THE SIDE BAR LOCKS
UNCODED YOU WILL RECEIVE THEM WITHOUT TUMBLERS, SPRINGS OR RETAINERS WHICH ARE
AVAILABLE SEPARATELY.
HOW
TO DETERMINE CODE OF KEY
1. LAY KEY ON DIAGRAM WITH BOTTOM OF KEY FLUSH WITH EDGE OF DRAWING, HEAD AND
POINT CAREFULLY LINED UP.
2. READ CODE IN LETTERS C-N-B-Y FROM HEAD OF KEY TO TIP, FROM POSITIONS 1 TO 6
INCLUSIVE, AND AS EACH DEPTH IS DETERMINED, WRITE THAT LETTER IN THE BLANK
SPACE PROVIDED ABOVE THE POSITION NUMBERS. (1-2-3-4-5-6)
3. WITH KEY PROPERLY LINED UP ON DIAGRAM, ALL CUTS THAT SHOW IN THE FIRST
SECTION ARE TO BE MARKED " C ". CUTS THAT FALL IN THE FIRST BLACK
SECTION, MARK " N ". CUTS THAT FALL IN THE WHITE SECTION, MARK "
B ". CUTS THAT FALL IN THE SECOND BLACK SECTION, MARK " Y ".
HOW TO ASSEMBLE LOCK
1. THE LETTERS (C-N-B-Y) WHICH YOU HAVE WRITTEN ABOVE THE CUTTING POSITIONS
INDICATE THE DIFFERENT COLOR TUMBLERS THAT ARE TO BE DROPPED IN EACH TUMBLER
SLOT OF THE LOCK.
C - COPPER N - NICKEL B - BLACK Y - YELLOW
2. STARTING FROM HEAD (NO. 1 POSITION) OF LOCK DROP COLORED TUMBLERS IN PROPER
SLOTS (SEE FIG. B) WHEN ALL ASSEMBLED PRESS DOWN WITH FINGER (SEE FIG. C &
D)
3. INSERT SPRINGS IN ROUND CAVITIES (SEE FIG. E). DO NOT PULL TUMBLER SPRINGS
APART. UNSCREW THEM.
4. INSERT SPRING RETAINER (SEE FIG. F). ITS 6 PRONGS EACH SLIP INTO ONE OF THE
SPRINGS, AND THE ENDS INTO THE STAKING SLOTS.
5. CHECK BY INSERTING CUT KEY. IF CORRECT, SIDE BAR WILL DROP IN PLACE. FASTEN
SPRING RETAINER BY PEENING. (SEE FIG. G & H) USE SCREW DRIVER AND LIGHT
HAMMER.
